2007 Burning Man talks

topic posted Tue, July 17, 2007 - 11:26 AM by  Lorenzo
Well, I've got a great line-up of speakers again this year . . . however, there is one little problem. We're still looking for a large space in which to hold them. If anyone is running a theme camp, has a large covered space, and wants to host the 2007 Palenque Norte lectures on Wed, Thur, and Fri from 3 to 6 pm please let me know.

Thanks . . . Lorenzo (at) matrixmasters (dot) com

Hopefully this isn't a touchy question, but... why isn't Entheon Village hosting the talks? Seemed like a natural fit.

The short answer is that I wanted to do something smaller and have more time to play this year. . . . but the longer answer is on the Web page with this year's schedule, which is now available at:

      www.matrixmasters.com/pn/BM-t...ule.html

But here is a little of what I say about this year's format:

Anyone who has attended a conference in the past, like Mind States or the Entheobotany Seminars in Palenque, will tell you that while the speakers are what drew them to the conference, it was the people they met there that kept them coming back.

So we are going to attempt to re-create that vibe at the end of the pool in Palenque and record a series of Playalogues, or group conversations on the playa. It is our hope that theses conversations will eventually reach people far and wide. Hopefully, our conversations will never end, but will reach the ears of all who are ready to listen.

        I like the Playalogues idea.

Wonder what Ralph Abraham is up to these days. It would be interesting to hear him as a participant; seems like the free-wheeling format would suit him.
